Why We Do What We Do
Survey Drones was created to provide a better way for project teams to access accurate site information.
We saw too many projects relying on outdated imagery, incomplete information and reporting that was difficult to use. Our aim was to combine specialist drone technology with a practical understanding of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
Today, we help contractors, project managers and commercial teams access the information they need to make confident decisions throughout project delivery.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Matt Anderson — Founder & Lead Surveyor
Matt founded Survey Drones after more than 20 years working across civil engineering, surveying and major infrastructure projects. His career has taken him from working on site with the tools to leading engineering teams and delivering complex, multi-million-pound projects.
That breadth of experience gives him a unique understanding of the challenges contractors face — and the information they actually need to keep projects moving.
- Began his career as a groundworker, gaining first-hand experience of earthworks, drainage and civil engineering construction
- Qualified as a Civil Engineer before progressing into engineering, surveying and project delivery roles
- Managed and delivered multi-million-pound infrastructure, highways and civil engineering projects throughout the UK
- Experienced the inefficiencies of traditional surveying, manual progress reporting and fragmented site information throughout his career
- Founded Survey Drones to provide contractors with faster, safer and more accurate site intelligence that supports better decision-making
- Personally scopes every project to ensure clients receive meaningful data, tailored reports and practical outputs that integrate seamlessly into their workflow
